Job Title:  Barback

Job Summary:  Assist bartender in keeping bar clean and stocked.  Learn bartending skills over time.  

Barback Qualifications:

Be at least 21 years of age

Ability to lift and carry cases of liquor, beer and wine

Ability to lift ice buckets and kegs

Desire to learn

Ability to anticipate bar needs and quickly fill them

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

Keep the bar area clean.

Mop all floors thoroughly.

Check all customer identification to ensure they are of legal drinking age.  

Retrieve and stock items for use in the bar using proper rotation procedures.

Minimize waste and spillage.

Attend staff meetings.

Follow all health and safety regulations.

Wash glassware. 

Prepare garnishes.

Participate in bar promotions and events.

Replenish bar supplies.

Refill juice bottles.

Change beer kegs/gas.

Change soda syrup/gas.

Restock beer refrigerators.

Empty trash.

Refill ice bins.

Unload merchandise received.

Anticipate the bartenders’ needs and assist them.

Prepare bar for night shift.

Fill in as needed during busy and understaffed times.
